Throw out the plastic, let’s use glass

A 12-year-old girl in the UAE got cancer from using a mineral water bottle for 16 months straight. Mineral water bottles contain a plastic material called PET, which is safe to use once and is a cancer risk if you reuse it for frugality or convenience. Every day we are connected to plastic products, but never take them seriously enough to recognise them. And a woman's health is being threatened by the many types of plastic products she deals with every day. From now on, let's remember to use glass and keep plastic away from you.

Which plastics are commonly used by women

Cui Mei: When you wake up in the morning to take a sip of water, unwrap a skin-awakening mask, eat a lunchbox for lunch, and shower and bathe in the evening, you need to come into contact with at least one PVC plastic cup, a packet of OPP plastic mask bags, a PET plastic lunchbox, and an EVA plastic shower cap. I have read reports that the frequent use of food utensils made of unsafe plastic can easily dilute harmful substances, which can affect women's endocrine secretion in mild cases and cause breast, uterine and ovarian cancers in severe cases, making the frequent use of plastic products harmful to health.

Kang Lili: There is such a fixed class of plastic, such as the plastic wrap used for weight loss, the plastic cover of the face steamer, the plastic dispensing bottle or dispensing box used for travel, the plastic shower cap to be used when bathing, the plastic mask bag containing the mask, these are all commonly used by women. They exist because women love beauty, but they make subtle harm to women. After applying some slimming products when losing weight, women need cling wrap and then stay in the steam-filled bathroom with the cling wrap for a few minutes, which is actually chronic suicide. Also, many women like to soak their masks in hot water for a few minutes before applying them. Most masks are made of composite plastics such as PPP and OPP, which can release carcinogens when the temperature gets hot. Most masks are made of PP, OPP and other composite plastics, which can release carcinogens when the temperature gets hot. The plastic dispensing bottles or boxes used when travelling, as well as items such as shower caps, are also afraid of repeated use and high temperatures.

Be a less plastic person

Su Xiaoyan: We should still spend a little more money on glass packaged skincare products, especially the whitening and nutrition range, as they are highly susceptible to oxidation and the glass bottles are a good barrier. Also, don't cover food that you plan to store in the fridge for two days before eating it. Supermarket cling film is usually cheap PVC film, which can have carcinogenic substances penetrating into food containing fats and oils even in the cold environment of the fridge. Remove meat, cheese and other fatty foods from the wrap or plastic packaging, wash the top layer or shallowly peel it off and place it in another container, such as a covered porcelain bowl or stainless steel container.

Li Jing: The shoddy disposable plastic tableware is harmful to the body, they are made from industrial offcuts through the furnace, pressed film, carcinogenic content is very high, long-term use of such tableware will make people have memory loss, skin discoloration and other problems. When you need to use disposable tableware, look for the blue "0S" mark first, you can choose the goods marked PE (polyethylene) and PP (polypropylene) words on the plastic products, so safer.

Zhang Xi: We can't live without computers and we can't live without plastics, but it would obviously be a bad decision to let them all come together. In a radioactive environment, the chance of plastics decomposing is greatly increased, and harmful substances are released and inhaled by the magnetic field created by the computer. We should keep plastic cups at least half a metre away from the computer, do not stick cheap monitor radiation protection film (it is a PVC plastic, carcinogenic), and keep everything with a plastic casing away from the computer (e.g. scanners, photocopiers, cosmetics, plastic file folders, stationery, etc.). Plastic is twice as harmful in the radiation environment of a computer.
